Like so many new Westport residents, Lisa Holler moved from New York City.
Like so many urban dwellers, she never thought she’d head to the suburbs.
Like so many recent arrivals, she loves her new hometown.
Unlike any of the others though, Lisa is now an Associate with KMS Team at Compass. Who better, after all, to sell a home to buyers from Manhattan and Brooklyn than someone who very recently lived there herself?
The profession comes naturally to Lisa. Her mother was a real estate agent; her father built custom homes.
Lisa left her native Denver for Miami University in Ohio. She majored in marketing, met her husband there, and moved with him to Chicago when he entered law school. Stephen was hired in New York; she got a job there as a wine buyer. Eight months after their first child was born, she pivoted to real estate. She earned her license and has been a successful agent in Brooklyn for the past six years.
Lisa loved living in Greenpoint. But with two children in a two-bedroom apartment, they needed more space. Through friends she connected with KMS Partner Kim Harizman. “It was humbling to be on the other end of a transaction,” Lisa admits. “But Kim was fantastic. I loved the way she handled every detail.”
The Hollers moved in at the end of August. Both kids have their own bedroom. They love the pool. Seven-year-old Lucy settled in quickly at Coleytown Elementary School; 4-year-old Jack is thriving in preschool.
Lucy joined the Westport Soccer Association program and will take a cooking class at Wakeman Town Farm. She likes not hearing noises like motorcycles at night. “There are trees everywhere. There’s lots of oxygen,” Lucy notes. She looks forward to helping her family learn to compost. Little things like snacks after school at The Porch @ Christie’s make Westport feel like a true community.
Lisa, meanwhile, has found a great home with the KMS Team at Compass. “I feel very fortunate to be part of this team,” she says. “They’re incredible people, with a wealth of knowledge. Everyone has great rapport.” Lisa is excited to help the team in areas like videography. “They’re always looking for new ideas here,” she says.
And she looks forward to showing New York clients how much they can enjoy here. “People from the city just think about New Jersey and Westchester. They don’t look at Fairfield County. But the schools, the recreation, the beauty – there’s so much, all around.”
Including pickleball. Lisa jokes that her hobbies are “work, and taking care of my kids.” But as soon as she can, she’ll pick up a paddle and start playing.
