Valentine’s Day, according to Wikipedia, “is recognized as a significant cultural, religious, and commercial celebration of romance and romantic love in many regions around the world.”

We at KMS like to take a more modern approach to the holiday that is essentially inescapable this time of year.  Yes, we adore spending the holiday with that special someone, but we also enjoy that the holiday gives us the opportunity to show our love for friends, co-workers and kids in our lives!

One-stop treat shopping is done at Saugatuck Sweets — Karen Scott goes to the Westport location while Susan Seath frequents the one in Fairfield. Both are excellent! Mary Ellen Gallagher loves the homemade chocolates at Le Rouge and their community approach - several times a year Le Rouge holds a “give a heart” campaign to spread love to teachers/student (with chocolate) and non-profits (with a portion of the proceeds). For a baked goods, the Cake Box seems to be the favorite. Kim Harizman finds the assortment of flavors available in cupcakes is perfect to satisfy all of her loves.

For floral needs, Michael Mombello calls Lemon Dahlia in Wilton; Karen Hagen stops in at The Flowerfall in Westport to place her order. Both say the results are guaranteed to impress!

Looking for a special place to dine?  The Cottage and Tarantino in Westport, Bonda in Fairfield, Cactus Rose in Wilton, Luc’s Café in Ridgefield, Artisan in Southport and Arethusa al Tavolo in Bantam all receive high marks from the guys on the team and the ladies, who like to do the planning! (David Weber, Michael Mombello, Karen Scott, Karen Hagen and Mary Ellen Gallagher all say – don’t forget to call for reservations!)

Hoping you all have a wonderful day!

With love,

#teamkms
