Summer Sparkles!
Bridgeport kicked off the holiday early with fireworks on June 28th. There are more spectacular events lined up to celebrate Independence Day and enjoy the month of July in Connecticut!

7/1 Music Mondays
Visit "The Shoe" every Monday for an evening of acoustic open mic and featured musicians. The Horseshoe Cafe is situated in the heart of Southport Village on the site of a former Blacksmith Shop.
7/2 Light Up the Sky
Celebrate at Westport's Compo Beach with a spectacular fireworks display sponsored by Melissa & Doug Bernstein. This annual event, organized by Parks & Rec and the Police Athletic League, is always a blast!
7/3 Norwalk's Turn
Norwalk is set to showcase their spectacular 2024 Independence Day Concert & Fireworks Show at Calf Pasture Beach! Attendees can look forward to enjoying a live performance by the Funky Dawgz Brass Band before the fireworks light up the sky.
7/4 Make a Night of It
The Weston Community comes together in full force for its Fourth of July Celebration, featuring food, entertainment, and fireworks at the school grounds, starting at 5pm. It's a wonderful opportunity to gather and celebrate our Independence.
7/5 MOE
Enjoy an evening with "moe." at the Levitt Pavillion. Hailed by American Songwriter for their "mind-bending musicality," moe is treasured for their mesmerizing musical synergy, unfettered showmanship, and smart, resonant songcraft.
7/6 More Fireworks!
Fairfield's Fourth of July show is happening tonight at Jennings and Penfield Beaches. For non-residents, there's a limited number of parking spots available for $50. It's sure to be a fantastic event with a great view of the fireworks over the beach!
7/7 Sing-a-long
Join us at Weston Library for a special "Encanto" Sing-a-long screening, complete with free popcorn! Come dressed in your comfiest clothes or in your finest Encanto attire at this fun-filled event of singing, dancing, and coloring.
7/8 Experience the Sea
Looking for an indoor adventure? Head to Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium for a unique and educational experience that offers insight into the rich biodiversity of Long Island Sound. It's a great way to stay cool and have fun while learning about marine life!
7/9 Pequot Presents
Unwind and indulge in a timeless classic from Merchant Ivory, known for producing some of the best period dramas of all time. Tonight's film, "Mr. & Mrs. Bridge," showcases the talents of legendary actors Paul Newman and Joanne Woodward.
7/10 Cool Off
Looking to stay cool? Head to Fairfield University's Walsh Gallery and explore Peter Anton's whimsical "Just Desserts" exhibition featuring larger-than-life, hyper-realistic sculptures of ice cream cones, cakes, and more. Through 7/27.
7/11 Mother Nature
Take an adventure on the Norwalk River Valley Trail and indulge in the beauty of nature. Whether you're biking, hiking, or simply enjoying the great outdoors, it's a fantastic way to appreciate nature and stay active.
7/12 Jennings' Wonka
Tonight, Fairfield presents "Wonka" on the beach as part of the Sand Jam series. The evening starts with a traditional pre-movie dance party featuring a DJ. Bring a picnic dinner or some snacks and enjoy the show!
7/13 Family Fun Day
Don't miss the biggest family-oriented annual summer event at Wakeman Town Farm today! Enjoy the bubble show, jam out to music from the School of Rock, and partake in other fun activities for a memorable summer day.
7/14 Local Artisans
The Artisan Marketplace Summer Series at MOCA offers a perfect opportunity for families and friends to spend a leisurely afternoon supporting and discovering the talent and creativity of local artisans.
7/15 Minion Monday
A refreshingly cold movie theater is a great way to spend a summer afternoon. Catch all the mayhem in Despicable Me 4, playing now at the Sacred Heart Community Theatre in Fairfield.
7/16 The Environment
This week's Middle School Learning Club focuses on our planet's ecosystems. Dive into an interactive program exploring biodiversity & environmental intercconnectedness at the Westport Library.

7/17 At the Farm
Whether you're a backyard gardener or a loyal farmers' market shopper, you'll love this tasty class at Lachat Town Farm. Explore an array of salads that feature the delicious produce being harvested in July.
7/18 Showtunes!
Celebrate Broadway's greatest musicals and the works that inspired them at the Westport Playhouse production of “They Made It A Musical!”
7/19 Summertime Fav
A coffee can and some fresh ingredients will be used to make homemade chocolate or vanilla ice cream! Enjoy an ice cream social afterwards with all the toppings and your 4th/5th grade friends at Westport Library.
7/20 Get on Your Feet
"Modern Refuge" will get you on dancing! Head to Wilton's Amber Farm and pack your lawn chairs but no need to pack a picnic. Snappy Dawgs + College Creamery will be onsite selling hot dogs, sweets and more.
7/21 Music Festival
Pick up a picnic dinner at Brendan’s 101, Rowayton Pizza, or the Rowayton Market, and enjoy the show. Many little-known acts who have first performed in Rowayton go on to sell out large music venues.
7/22 Hands on Stories
Head to Earthplace for an animal-themed story and an encounter with one of their Animal Hall residents, tailored for children age 5 and under. It's a great way to engage young minds and foster a love for animals and storytelling.
7/23 Taco Tuesday
This summer, there are plenty of spots to get your fix in Westport! Don Memo, bartaco, MEXiCUE and Tacombi are just a few options to savor fresh cuisine al fresco.

7/24 Magic of Trains

Calling all fans of The Polar Express! Fairfield Museum has a special model train display running through magical and cozy winter scenes. Enjoy a reprieve from the heat 7.22 - 7.29
7/25 British Invasion
Join the party and help close out the Wilton Library Summer Concert Series. Everything Else makes their local debut performance singing songs from the Beatles era. Early concert to be enjoyed by all 5 - 6:30pm.
7/26 BRC Presents
Black Rock Theater is known for offering more than just dance and acting lessons; they also bring wonderful plays to life. This month, they are presenting Disney ~ Pixar's Finding Nemo Jr. Performances run 7/26-28.
7/27 Homecoming
Westport native and platinum-selling singer and songwriter Chelsea Cutler returns home for a special one-night show at Levitt Pavilion. It's sure to be a memorable performance by a talented home-grown artist.
7/28 Compo Beach
Join the YMCA for their 45th annual one-mile open water swim race at Compo Beach. Funds raised will benefit aquatics safety at the Y. Stick around, the 06880 Soundview Summer Stroll also happens today with live music & more!
7/29 Southport Tour
If you enjoyed last month's 5 beach bike tour, you'll this one riding through Southport, one of Fairfield's beautiful historical districts, taking in views of Long Island Sound and stately antique homes as you pedal. Make some time to stop for lunch or a water break in Southport Center.
7/30 Clam Bake
Clams, lobsters and other local delectables makes for an authentic New England seafood feast. and the setting is pretty perfect too - Sheffield Island with its light house in the background. Join the Norwalk Seaport Association on this dinner cruise.
7/31 The Book Ends
Tonight, enjoy some 60s ad 70s music in the beautiful setting at Waveny Park in New Canaan. Bring chairs and a blanket - or come early with a picnic. Music starts at 7:30!
