During November the vibrant colors of autumn transition to the colder, more subdued tones of winter. We fall back to standard time tonight, giving us less daylight during waking hours. Yet, there is still plenty of time for reflection and preparation for the holidays that are fast approaching.

11/6 Lunch & Learn

Monuments: Commemoration and Controversy, is on exhibit at the Fairfield University Art Museum, through 12/20. Today, informal conversations will explore the societal impact of the painting titled, Tong Yin Yee Shung Gun, Chinese Laundry.

11/7 Dunder Mifflin

Wakeman Town Farm's fall programs begin today. From Little Farmer, parent & me offerings, to the after school "Green Teen" club, there's plenty of fun and friends at the farm.

11/11 Veteran's Day

Those that fought for our freedom in 1776 were gone long before Veteran's Day was established. Yet, this day offers a perfect opportunity to discuss Declaring Independence: Why 1776 Matters, a new book by historian Edward J Larson.

11/12 Weekend Update

Returning tonight to the Westport Playhouse, Mandy Patinkin presents Jukebox, a handpicked collection of musical numbers. A master of word and song, Mandy is sure to deliver a captivating performance.

11/22 Saturday Fun

Glide across the sock skating rink, bounce through the holiday cottage, and wander the Holiday Forest of Illusions, where science and enchantment intertwine. It's Holiday Enchantment at Connecticut Science Center in Hartford.

11/23 Nearby Parade!

Stamford's Downtown Parade kicks off the holiday season today at noon. Giant balloons, marching bands, dance troops and more will make their way through the parade route to the crowd's delight.


11/24 Perfect Tree

Take a break from your weekday routine and visit Maple Row Tree Farm. Beat the post Thanksgiving Day rush and cut down your fresh tree a little early—Christmas is only a month away!

11/25 Leaf-A-Palooza

It’s autumn and the leaves are falling. Stepping Stones Children's Museum needs your help! Rake, pile and jump into more than 60,000 fabric leaves throughout the museum for a sensory play experience full of fall fun.

11/26 Together Time

For nearly fifty years the Pequot Runners Race has given Thanksgiving Day a healthy start. Register early. The 5 mile run/2.6 mile walk start at 8:15am. No excuses, you'll be home in time to start cooking the turkey.

As Thanksgiving weekend draws to a close, it's time to think about holiday decor! Boys scouts from troops 788 and 887 will be selling balsam wreaths and holidays stars at the Weston Onion Barn today, from 11am - 3pm.
