So Much to be Thankful For During November the vibrant colors of autumn transition to the colder, more subdued tones of winter. We fall back to standard time tonight, giving us less daylight during waking hours. Yet, there is still plenty of time for reflection and preparation for the holidays that are fast approaching. 11/5 Isn't it the Pie? It's November, so naturally thoughts turn to Thanksgiving and food prep for the big day. For some it's all about the turkey; others love the sides. We are firmly in the PIE camp. Order yours today at Wakeman or Lachat Town Farms. 11/6 Lunch & Learn Monuments: Commemoration and Controversy, is on exhibit at the Fairfield University Art Museum, through 12/20. Today, informal conversations will explore the societal impact of the painting titled, Tong Yin Yee Shung Gun, Chinese Laundry.

11/7 Dunder Mifflin Watch an iconic episode of "The Office" at The Palace Stamford. Then hear some behind-the-scenes stories and memorable moments as Rainn Wilson shares how he brought Dwight to life. Got a mustard colored shirt? From Little Farmer, parent & me offerings, to the after school "Green Teen" club, there's plenty of fun and friends at the farm.

11/11 Veteran's Day Those that fought for our freedom in 1776 were gone long before Veteran's Day was established. Yet, this day offers a perfect opportunity to discuss Declaring Independence: Why 1776 Matters, a new book by historian Edward J Larson. 11/12 Weekend Update You laugh with him as a co-anchor on this legendary SNL sketch and may have seen his HBO/Netflix shows, but have you enjoyed Michael Che live? Tonight's your chance—at Ridgefield Playhouse.

11/13 Silver Screen FTC presents a night of short films by local filmmakers, moderated by Brian Russell of Red Shoe Film. Enjoy four films, filmmaker talkback and Q & A sessions. Tonight's special guest is James Naughton. 11/14 On My Own Staples Players present Les Misérables, a story of redemption, grace, love, sacrifice, and justice. Set against the backdrop of revolution and poverty, you'll be transported into the story by very talented high school actors.

Praised for its modern presentation, free admission, and manageable scale, it's like visiting NYC's American Museum of Natural History—without crowds! 11/16 Star Struck Watch an afternoon showing of 'Terms of Endearment" at the Sacred Heart Community Theater in Fairfield. Then, enjoy a lively discussion with Susan Granger and Sachi Parker, the daughter of the movie's star, Shirley MacLaine.

11/19 Lost Art Letteracy is a program aimed to develop writing skills of children across the country. At the Weston Library, children will be coached in the art of letter-writing as they express thanks to a local firefighter. 11/20 Girl Power It's opening night for New Canaan High School Theatre's presentation of Legally Blonde. This high energy, feel good show is just what you need to power you through the holidays! Shows Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

11/21 Mandy Patinkin Returning tonight to the Westport Playhouse, Mandy Patinkin presents Jukebox, a handpicked collection of musical numbers. A master of word and song, Mandy is sure to deliver a captivating performance. 11/22 Saturday Fun Glide across the sock skating rink, bounce through the holiday cottage, and wander the Holiday Forest of Illusions, where science and enchantment intertwine. It's Holiday Enchantment at Connecticut Science Center in Hartford.

11/23 Nearby Parade! Stamford's Downtown Parade kicks off the holiday season today at noon. Giant balloons, marching bands, dance troops and more will make their way through the parade route to the crowd's delight. 11/24 Perfect Tree Take a break from your weekday routine and visit Maple Row Tree Farm. Beat the post Thanksgiving Day rush and cut down your fresh tree a little early—Christmas is only a month away!

11/25 Leaf-A-Palooza It’s autumn and the leaves are falling. Stepping Stones Children's Museum needs your help! Rake, pile and jump into more than 60,000 fabric leaves throughout the museum for a sensory play experience full of fall fun. 11/26 Together Time The family has gathered and you bought your pies already. Take some time off and bowl of few games at Uncle Buck's Fish Bowl & Grill. It's inside Bass Pro Shop, which is an adventure in itself.

11/27 Early Trot For nearly fifty years the Pequot Runners Race has given Thanksgiving Day a healthy start. Register early. The 5 mile run/2.6 mile walk start at 8:15am. No excuses, you'll be home in time to start cooking the turkey. 11/28 Sip & Create Celebrate the holiday season with a creative twist! Sip wine from Aquila's Nest Vineyard and turn seashells into beautiful Christmas ornaments—just bring your holiday spirit to enjoy a night of creativity and cheer.

11/29 Winter Whimsy Fairfield's annual holiday lighting is tonight. A full-town festival with school choirs, festive music, food trucks, carriage rides, a beer garden and more.
