While not until the end of the month this year, Thanksgiving is already in the air. With unending thanks for your support & friendship to KMS, we prepare this concierge list of events and ideas to enlighten, entertain, inspire and help you and yours appreciate life in Connecticut. 11/1 Beer & Pretzels

What happens when you add the Logical Pretzels to Nod Hill Brewery? You get a fun-filled evening of live music inspired by Steely Dan. Standing room only tonight in Ridgefield.

11/2 Native Seeds

Join a naturalist on a walk through Earthplace Meadows. She will explain how to harvest and store seeds to plant in your spring garden. Today, 1 - 3pm.

11/3 Homes of 06880

The 2024 Historic Homes of 06880 tour is today! With homes spanning four centuries you are sure to get an inside look at Westport through the ages. Presented by and in support of 06880: Where Westport Meets the World (and sponsored by the KMS Team).

11/4 Share the Warmth

Seeking donations of new or gently used and clean winter coats, hats, mittens, gloves and snow suits! Westport Fire Department coordinates this drive on behalf of Bridgeport Rescue Mission. Drop offs at Town Hall & Senior Center too.

11/5 Election Day Camp

Crafts, cooking and a day of voting - for favorite farm animal that is - takes place today at Wakeman Town Farm. Kids ages 6 - 11 can join in the fun at the farm. Dress for mess, and the outdoors.

11/6 Complete Works

Catch a fast moving, hilarious run through all the (38 or 39?) plays of William Shakespeare. Fairfield University Theatre students will amaze with outrageous costumes and crazy transitions in this Looney Tunes meets Shakespeare production!

11/7 Stargazing

Pequot library presents Great Lawn Astronomy on Thursday nights through March 6th. Join for hot chocolate and stargazing, with views of Saturn, Jupiter, the moon and more on clear nights. For children, families and teens. Registration required.

11/8 Sentenced

SHU Film Series presents this powerful film and panel discussion on the systemic problem of illiteracy. Produced and narrated by NBA champion Stephen Curry, the film is a forceful yet tender tale of how literacy can free children from the cycles of generational poverty.

11/9 Dinner, Pajamas

Start your evening by dining in one of Westport's restaurants, enjoying a three course meal. End with a concert by Pajamas, a Michigan-based exploratory rock band. Part 2 of the Supper and Soul Series sponsored by the Westport Library.

11/10 Veterans Parade

Most towns have Veterans Day Ceremonies and schools host special programs honoring all Veterans on Monday (11/11). Milford takes it a step further with a parade today! It starts at 2pm, with high schools bands performing at the gazebo afterwards.

11/11 Indoor Swim

The Staples Pool opens for community swim today through May 18th. MWF from 5:30 - 7:30pm, weekend hours too! The Weston Middle School Pool is also open Saturday/Sunday 3 - 5pm. Keep swimming all winter long!

11/12 It's a Mystery

Get to know the Pequot Library a little better as it turns 135 this year! A scavenger hunt will lead you with questions as you make your way through the building and the Dewey Decimal System! Pequot swag for completing, while supplies last.


11/13 Dolls of Our Lives

Join author Mary Mahoney for a trip down memory lane, as 90's memorabilia and all things American Girl are discussed. Kit and Molly fans - the Coley Homestead c.1940 will be the perfect photo op!

11/14 Fall Decor

Spend an afternoon or evening with friends... and create some fall decor for your home. A festive fall wreath will look great on your front door or anywhere in your home. Earthplace: 1 - 3pm or 6 - 8pm

11/15 Elf!

The Staples players perform this holiday classic in musical form. With shows 11/15-11/17 and 11/21-11/23, you'll have eight chances to fit it into your November schedule. Tickets go fast, so reserve early!

11/16 Violins of Hope

Six violins, a cello and a viola, have Holocaust survival stories of their own. Meticulously restored by Israeli violin makers, they will be played by Norwalk Symphony in this concert for the benefit of the Holocaust Resource Center.e and hope. 

11/17 Animals at Night

Beardsley Zoo presents, for its third year, Glow Wild. On Thursday through Sunday evenings (until 12/15) the zoo will be lit by larger than life lanterns of flora and fauna found in our natural world. Come & be illuminated!

11/18 Glassware

Fairfield Library is offering two glass etching workshops today. Create your own design to personalize your glasses with a monogram or other etching. Main library on Post Road.

11/19 Hoops!

It's basketball season. Whether you usually watch youth games on Saturday mornings or the pros at night, the energy of college games can't be beat. Luckily, we have some local teams where catching the action is easy. Fairfield U takes on Drexel tonight.

11/20 Worldwide

Stepping Stones Museum for Children presents Let's Celebrate Worldwide is a joyful celebration of holiday traditions around the globe. Explore other cultures and traditions through fables, activities and performances.

11/21 The Other Place

Westport Community Theatre presents Sharr White's The Other Place. This pyschcological thriller follows the brilliant scientist Julianna as she journeys to Cape Cod in an attempt to put the pieces of her life back together. Multiple dates 11/15 - 11/30.

11/22 Holiday Pop-Up

Get a jump-start on your shopping at the Fairfield Museum's Holiday Pop Up Market. In its tenth year, the market is sure to offer some unique and quality items, perfect for gift giving. Shop tonight while enjoying wine & cheese!

11/23 On Ice

Hockey fights cancer tonight as the Bridgeport Islanders take on the Charlotte Checkers. Enjoy pregame festivities and a family pack of tickets, which includes hot dogs and sodas. The action is at the Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport.

11/24 Spectacular!


Stamford's Downtown Parade kicks off the holiday season today at noon. Giant balloons, marching bands, dance troops and more will make their way through the parade route to the crowd's delight.

11/25 Fresh is Best

Ambler Farm hosts its annual Thanksgiving Farmstand just in time for the big day! Visit the White Carriage Barn (257 Hurlbutt Street) for an abundance of seasonal options. Monday 3 - 6pm and Tuesday 9am - 12 pm.

11/26 10 Frames of Fun

It is a new twist on happy hour! Bowling at Pinstripes is just $5/hr per person. Monday - Friday, 3:00 - 6:30pm in the SONO Mall. Happy hour specials on drinks and food too. Isn't it time to up your game?

11/27 Take a break

While the pies cool, take a break from Thanksgiving dinner prep. Grab the kids and head out to Maple Row Tree Farm to cut your own Christmas Tree. You'll beat the post-Thanksgiving crowds and get the pick of the lot!

11/28 Gather Together

Don't be alone on Thanksgiving, join the community at Lachat Town Farm! They are cooking the turkey, sides and dessert. Just bring yourself and beverages (apple cider or wine) to share. Noon - 3pm.

11/29 Opening Day

Weather dependant, the P.A.L. Rink at Longshore Club Park in Westport will open as usual, the day after Thanksgiving. Skip the Black Friday sales and join in the fun!

11/30 Weekend Waddle

Still working off that pumpkin pie? Take part in a waddle walk (10am or 11am) at the New Canaan Nature Center. Led by a naturalist, you'll explore the trails and discover why autumn is such a busy time for animals.

Newcomer or long-timer, we hope you all find something new to enjoy near home this month.
