Sending the year out in style, Fairfield County buzzes with activity in December. Curated for you, we hope the following events & ideas will enlighten, entertain, inspire and help you & yours enjoy this holiday season to its fullest.

12/1 Very Valli Holiday

The Bijou theatre presents a tribute to Frankie Valli, The Four Seasons and more in this holiday special. Hits from Frankie's album 'Tis the Seasons and more, tonight at 6pm. A perfect kick-off to December!

12/2 Let there be light-

on the Cribari bridge! Funded for a quarter century by Al's Angels, new lead sponsors have taken the reigns. Thanks to Neat Lending, Saugatuck Captial, The Bridge and others for keeping this tradition alive. Watch them light up at 5pm and then head to The Bridge for drink specials.

12/3 Perfecting Letters

Learn the art of brush lettering through a series of creative activities. Then take your holiday cards and thank you notes to a new level. The grandparents will be so impressed! For those in 4th - 5th grade, led by Debby Reelitz, a professional calligrapher.

12/4 50 years later

The Music Box proudly presents the 50th anniversary tour of Genesis' Selling England by the Pound. Largely hailed as one of the finest albums produced during the progressive rock movement of the 1970s, this one stands the test of time.

12/5 Illumination!

Staples' Orphenians entertain with music as Westport lights up the tree at Town Hall, tonight at 5 pm. Weston's Holiday Music Festival and Tree Lighting also takes place this evening at 5pm.

12/6 Holiday Stroll

With DJs spinning tunes, a march of the toy soldiers and horse-drawn carriage rides, it's no wonder Ridgefield's Holiday Stroll is a beloved, two-day tradition. Tonight, 6 - 9pm & Saturday, 10am - 2pm.

12/7 Fairfield Festival

It's Fairfield turn to celebrate the season. Join us (as sponsors) in the Winter Whimsy — school choirs and other musicians will perform, there will be a petting zoo, a beer garden, food trucks and more. Tree and Menorah will be lit at 5pm; festivities continue until 7pm.

12/8 December Market

Lachat Town Farm's final market of 2024 is today, from 10am until 2pm. Your favorite food vendors will be there along with live music and local artisans. This is your chance to shop local and find hand made items for your home, loved ones and pets.

12/9 Feel Rudolph Fly

In this reimagined classic short film, you'll follow Rudolph on his adventures in 4D! Feel the wind on your face, smell the cookies and trees as Rudolph and his new friends work together to save Christmas. Daily, through 1/1/25 at Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium.

12/10 Stress No More

Has holiday stress got you down? Invest an hour in this free workshop at Fairfield University's Bellarmine Hall Gallaries. Learn Mediation and Mindfulness techniques to help you power through and make the most of the season! 5 - 6pm

12/11 Deck the Halls?

What better way to decorate your home than with art made by local artisans? Rowayton Art Center features artists' original holiday and non-holiday handcrafted items, now through December 24th.

12/12 Finding...Elf

The holiday favorite, ELF, comes to the SHU Community Theater today, for two showings (4 and 7pm). It's a classic venue to see a movie, plus Fairfield offers great shopping and dining for pre, or post, show activities!

12/13 Candelight

Staples High School's annual gift to the community is the Candelight Concert. Going strong for 84 years, this is a tradition to cherish! Performances by the orchestras, bands and choirs of the school — concluding in the Hallelujah Chorus — will delight, amaze and inspire.

12/14 Sip & Skate

The Longshore rink is open! It's the perfect day to lace up those skates and get some fresh air/exercise. We'll help you warm up afterwards with a free hot chocolate. See you on the ice! Compass Cocoa is available from 2 - 4pm.

12/15 Drinks + Delight!

Enjoy the classic, A Christmas Carol, in a dramatic reading by the trained actors of Shakespeare on the Sound. This joint fundraiser with the Pequot Library is sure to lift your holiday spirits!

12/16 Special Delivery!

Fairfield has special mailboxes scattered throughout town so kids can be sure their letters will reach the North Pole without delay. Take those on Santa's "nice list" to Chips Family Restaurant —we have it on good authority that their chocolate chip pancakes are perfection!

12/17 Writers at the Mic

Friendly and non-threatening, this casual open mic night for writers happens on a monthly basis at the Westport Library. Bring your fiction, memoirs, essays or non-fiction pieces and give it a go. You've got five minutes - and feedback is optional!

12/18 CT Rivals

Basketball season has begun. Whether you usually watch youth games on Saturday mornings or the pros at night, the energy of college games is right in our backyard. Fairfield U takes on Central CT tonight.

12/19 Farmers Market

Westport's Farmers Market heads indoors for the winter. Graciously hosted at Gilberties on Sylvan Lane, there is room for all your favorite vendors. Come shop local and fresh, for every holiday meal.


12/20 Winterfest

Channel your inner child and head to Powder Ridge Mountain Park & Resort in Middlefield, CT, where you can ski, board, tube and/or snowbike. Special nights will have you rockin' & rolling with neon lights down the tube hill.

12/21 Farm Family Fun

Over the meadow and through the woods, kids with flashlights will hunt for candy canes at Lachat Town Farm. Afterwards, you all can make s'mores, grab a beverage and enjoy the carolers.

12/22 By Candlelight

Visit the Coley homestead as it would have been decorated at Christmastime in the 1940s. Lit only by candelight (and holiday lights), your guided tour of this mid 19th century farm house will be a special treat.

12/23 Disney On Ice

Favorite Disney characters from Frozen and Encanto take the ice at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport. Follow along during their exciting adventures and sing along to the tunes you know so well. Shows run Dec 19 - 23.

12/24 Special Hours!


The Great Trains Holiday Show returns to the Wilton Historical Society. Watch and listen as the trains pass through the magical villages. Running Wed - Sun in December, they are offering special Tuesday hours today, 10am - 1 pm.

12/25 Celebrate!

Who knows if there will be snow for Christmas or the first night of Hanukkah? But we hope you are surrounded by family and friends this holiday season. Eat, drink and be merry — and sneak in a beach walk if you can!

12/26 Keep Celebrating!

Looking for a magical place to unwind or enjoy a cocktail that you don't have to prepare? Hudson Malone's in Westport is the answer. Old world charm and ambiance, with good food too!

12/27 Enjoy the Snow

Pete Correale has made the late-night circuit and filmed three hour-long comedy specials, including, For Pete's Sake! Tonight he entertains live at the SHU Community Theatre.

12/29 Football Break

With college football dominating the tv, tonight is your chance to take a break! Why not pick a Christmas movie that was filmed in CT? You'll get a pretty impressive list (22!) when you click on the photo. Get the popcorn popping & enjoy!

12/30 All Aboard!

There's something about trains that appeals to almost every child. Spurring imagination through story telling, intriguing them with movement and mechanics, and challenging them with building and structure. Start your little one on their journey by painting a train today!

12/31 It's 12 O'Clock

Celebrate the New Year with the little ones — at noon rather than midnight! The "Noon Year's Eve" celebration runs from 10am to 1pm at Norwalk's Maritime Aquarium, where you can enjoy crafts, face painting, music and more.
